Empowering Communities Through Dialogue, Research, and Civic Action
The Voice of Ituri was founded on the vision of its principal founder, King Solomon Kabagambe, and co-founders Erica Borg, Yvonne Hanson, Ben Patterson, and Luc Malembe, who envisioned an organization that bridges Canada and Ituri in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
We aim to position the next generation of Iturians and Congolese leaders for global leadership roles.
We do this by advancing academic research, media and policy advocacy, and technology for peacebuilding, while mobilizing the Ituri diaspora to advance sustainable peace and development.
What began as a shared vision has grown into a movement dedicated to amplifying Ituri voices and shaping a more peaceful and equitable future.

Ituri is a region of immense potential, cultural diversity, and resilient communities. Yet many people continue to face challenges related to conflict, social division, limited opportunities, and barriers to civic participation.
Sustainable peace requires more than ending conflict. It requires informed citizens, engaged communities, empowered youth, and leaders committed to dialogue, accountability, and positive change.
